Abstract:Objective To integrates nurses′ knowledge and practice experience in sexual health care for cancer patients, and to provide a reference for the development of sexual health care management plans. Methods A computer-assisted search of Chinese and English databases was conducted to identify qualitative studies nurses′ perceptions and practice experience regarding sexual health care for cancer patients. The search time frame was limited within the inception of each database to July 2025. The methodological quality of the included studies was appraised using the JBI Critical Appraisal Checklist for Qualitative Research (2020). The results were synthesized using a Meta-aggregation approach. Results A total of 12 studies were included. From these, 49 findings were extracted, which were subsequently grouped into 10 categories. These categories were further synthesized into four integrated findings:nurses′ perceptions of sexual health care for cancer patients; practice dilemmas in providing sexual health care from the nurses′ perspective; practice strategies employed by nurses when delivering sexual health care; and nurses′ needs regarding the provision of sexual health care to cancer patients. Conclusion Healthcare administrators should fully understand nurses′ cognitive experiences and the practice dilemmas they face in providing sexual health care to cancer patients. It is essential to provide nurses with training on sexual health care knowledge and to strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration and support to facilitate the implementation of this care in clinical practice.
