Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of a teaching model combining virtual reality (VR) simulation technology and tabletop exercises in the trauma emergency skills training of nursing interns. Methods A quasi-experimental study was conducted.A total of 92 nursing interns were recruited from June 2023 to May 2025, and divided into a control group (n=46) and an intervention group (n=46) according to their internship admission time in the hospital.The control group received the traditional emergency training model of centralized theoretical teaching and skills training, while the intervention group was subjected to the teaching model combining VR simulation combined with tabletop exercise.After the training, the theoretical knowledge, rapid response team performance, comprehensive ability, and teaching satisfaction was compared between the two groups. Results Finally, 43 participants in the control group and 45 participants in the observation group completed the study.The intervention group scored significantly higher in first-aid knowledge, rapid response team operation, clinical critical thinking, teamwork, self-directed learning, skill self-efficacy, and teaching satisfaction (all P<0.05). Conclusion The teaching model combining VR simulation technology and tabletop exercises can effectively improve the theoretical knowledge level of trauma emergency, comprehensive clinical emergency skills, and teaching satisfaction of nursing interns.It can provide a reference for cultivating the trauma emergency ability of nursing interns.
