Objective To translate the English version of the Serious Educational Game in Nursing Appraisal Scale (SEGiNAS), and to test its reliability and validity in secondary-higher vocational integrated nursing students. Methods With the consent of the original author, the original scale was translated into Chinese version by Brislin translation model.Using convenient sampling method, 440 nursing students in a secondary and higher vocational college were selected to conduct a questionnaire survey to test the reliabi-lity and validity of the Chinese version of SEGiNAS. Results The Chinese version of SEGiNAS consisted of 20 items covering 3 dimensions: participation and teaching effectiveness, learning influence and practical application, content relevance and clarity.Exploratory factor analysis extracted 3 common factors, with a cumulative variance contribution rate of 67.572%.Confirmatory factor analysis indicated good model fitting indexes.The scale-level content validity index was 0.966, and item-level content validity index ranged from 0.833 to 1.000.The overall Cronbach′s α coefficient was 0.946, the test-retest reliability was 0.989, and split-half reliability was 0.889. Conclusion The Chinese version of SEGiNAS has good reliability and validity,and can be used to evaluate the teaching effectiveness of serious games among secondary-higher vocational integrated nursing students.
