Objective To investigate the current status of vicarious trauma among hospice care nurses and analyze its influencing factors, and to provide a reference for nursing managers to develop targeted training programs to enhance the psychological health of hospice care nurses. Methods A convenience sampling method was used to select 233 hospice care nurses as participants in December 2025.Data were collected using the General Information Questionnaire, the Healthcare Providers′ Vicarious Trauma Scale, the Self-Compassion Scale, and the Nurses′ Perceived Organizational Support Scale. Results The score of vicarious trauma among hospice care nurses was 69.91±15.78.Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that age, trauma-related training, empathy level, self-compassion, and perceived organizational support were significant influencing factors (all P＜0.05). Conclusion The level of vicarious trauma among hospice care nurses is low-to-moderate.Nursing managers can develop targeted training programs based on the identified influencing factors to improve the occupational psychological health of hospice care nurses.
