Objective To understand the related driving factors and coping difficulties of time poverty in nursing postgraduates, and to provide reference for improving their time management status and optimizing the training mode of nursing education. Methods A descriptive qualitative study method was used to conduct semi-structured interviews with 18 nursing postgraduates. The content analysis method was used to analyze the interview data. Results Three themes and 10 sub-themes were extracted: the multi-dimensional performance and perception of time poverty (fragmented time allocation and difficult to focus on core tasks;strong time pressure and heavy physical and mental load;squeezed personal development and life needs),the driving factors of time poverty (heavy academic and scientific research tasks;strict clinical practice requirements;role conflict and multi-task superposition;insufficient time management ability and resources),and the strategies and dilemma of coping with time poverty (passive response, lack of systematic strategies;actively explore efficient methods, but the effect is limited; seeking external support, but support resources are scarce). Conclusion The problem of time poverty among nursing postgraduates is widespread ,which is related to multiple factors such as academic research pressure, clinical practice needs, and role conflict. It is necessary to optimize the training program, rationally allocate resources, and strengthen support and protection to effectively improve the current situation of postgraduate time utilization.
