Abstract:Objective To determine the effect of mindfulness training based on virtual reality (VR) technology on anxiety, depression, job burnout, and quality of life among newly graduated nurses. Methods VR technology was used to develop a mindfulness training software.A total of 130 newly graduated nurses received an 8-week mindfulness training.Before and after the intervention, the Self-rating Anxiety Scale, the Self-rating Depression Scale, the Nursing Burnout Scale, and the MOS 36-Item Short Form Health Survey were used to assess the effect. Results After the training, the sample reported significantly lower anxiety, depression, and job burnout, whereas significantly higher quality of life (all P<0.05). Conclusion Implementing mindfulness training based on VR technology for newly graduated nurses can significantly reduce their anxiety and depression, alleviate job burnout, and improve quality of life.
