Abstract:Objective To describe and visually present the stages and treatment experiences of patients and caregivers undergoing chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) immunotherapy, and to provide a reference for whole-process care management for this patient population. Methods Using purposive sampling method, 23 patients undergoing CAR-T immunotherapy and their primary ca-regivers were selected for semi-structured in-depth interviews. The interview data were analyzed using the Colaizzi′s 7-step framework for phenomenological analysis. Results Along the treatment timeline of CAR-T immunotherapy, the treatment experiences and problems reported by patients and their caregivers were summarized and subdivided across five stages from three dimensions:tasks, emotions, and touchpoints.A patient journey map was then developed. Conclusion Patients receiving CAR-T immunotherapy and their caregivers exhibit multidimensional and dynamically changing treatment needs, experiences, and touchpoints.Healthcare professionals can use the journey map to identify opportunities at each stage, and implement precise, efficient nursing management and optimization strategies.
