Abstract:Objective To construct a nurse prescribing competency framework in China, and to provide a theoretical basis for the training and certification of specialty nurses′ prescribing competency, as well as for the formulation of related policies. Methods A prescribing competency framework was developed through literature review, optimized via expert panel discussions, and finalized using the Delphi expert consultation method. Results Twelve experts completed two rounds of consultation, with a questionnaire return rate of 100% for both rounds. The expert authority coefficients were 0.90 and 0.89, respectively. The final framework comprises three domains (prescribing practice, prescribing governance, and prescribing environment), 10 dimensions and 55 suppor-ting statements. Conclusion The nurse prescribing competency framework constructed in this study is scientific and rigorous, which can provide theoretical support and practical guidance for the design of nurse training systems, the development of certification standards, and the improvement of nurse prescribing policies.
