Abstract:Objective To explore the effects of a positive psychological intervention on psychological resilience, coping style, and quality of life in patients with sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL), and to provide new empirical evidence for clinical psychological nursing of SSNHL patients. Methods A total of 160 patients with SSNHL were divided into two groups according to their admission time, with 80 in each group. The control group received routine nursing care and psychological intervention, while the observation group additionally received positive psychological intervention based on the PERMA model (Positive emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, Accomplishment). Psychological resilience, coping style, and quality of life were assessed in both groups before and 6 weeks after the intervention. Results Seventy-seven patients in the control group and 79 in the observation group completed the study. After the intervention, the scores of psychological resilience, positive coping style, and quality of life were significantly higher, whereas the score of negative coping style was significantly lower in the observation group compared with the control group (all P<0.05). Conclusion Positive psychological intervention based on the PERMA model can effectively enhance psychological resilience, facilitate the formation of positive coping styles, and improve quality of life in patients with SSNHL.
