Abstract:Objective To synthesize the best evidence on non-pharmacological interventions for breakthrough pain in patients with colorectal cancer, and to provide an evidence based reference for developing standardized intervention protocols in clinical practice. Methods Guidelines, expert consensus statements, evidence summaries and systematic reviews concerning non-pharmacological interventions for breakthrough pain in colorectal cancer patients were systematically retrieved in Chinese and English databases and websites. Two researchers who had received evidence-based training independently screened the literature, assessed methodological quality, and extracted evidence. Results A total of 11 publications were included, and 23 pieces of best evidence were synthesized.Non-pharmacological interventions involved psychological intervention, physical intervention, exercise intervention, nutritional intervention, and social support intervention. Conclusion The summarized best evidence on non-pharmacological interventions for breakthrough pain in colorectal cancer patients can provide scientific guidance for clinical practice. Non-pharmacological interventions should be tailored to the individual′s condition, with emphasis on multidisciplinary collaboration and dynamic monitoring of intervention effects.
