Objective To systematically review the current research status, core contents, and existing limitations of symptom clusters in patients with liver cancer after transarterial chemoembolization (TACE), and to provide a basis for optimizing postoperative symptom management and conducting subsequent research. Methods The JBI systematic review reporting guideline was used as the methodological framework.A systematic search was conducted in Chinese and English databases to retrieve articles on symptom clusters in patients with liver cancer after TACE.The search period was from the establishment of the database to April 30, 2025.The included literature was summarized and analyzed. Results A total of 8 studies were included, and 14 symptom clusters were extracted, including upper gastrointestinal symptom cluster, disease-related symptom cluster, and liver function impairment symptom cluster, etc.The symptom assessment tools were mainly the M.D. Anderson Symptom Inventory and the liver cancer-specific module. Conclusion Patients with liver cancer after TACE have multiple symptom clusters, which show dynamic changes.Longitudinal studies should be conducted and specific assessment tools should be developed, to guide symptom management at different stages.
