Abstract:Objective To conduct a scoping review on the application of immersive virtual reality (IVR) technology in pulmonary rehabilitation, to identify the specific measures, outcomes, and limitations of the interventions, and to provide reference for future research and clinical practice. Methods A systematic search was carried out in domestic and international databases from inception of the database to May 29, 2025. Two researchers independently screened the literature, extracted data, and performed a descriptive analysis of the included studies. Results A total of 12 articles were included. All interventions used head-mounted displays.The intervention measures involved breathing training, exercise rehabilitation, psychological care, and health education. Intervention outcomes included effectiveness, safety, and feasibility. Conclusion IVR technology holds great promise for pulmonary rehabilitation. It can effectively enhance patient motivation and engagement, thereby improving the outcomes of pulmonary rehabilitation.Future large-scale, high-quality studies are needed to further verify the effectiveness and safety of IVR technology and to promote its clinical application.
