Objective To explore the effect of ultrasound assessment combined with SSKIN bundle care intervention on pressure injury prevention in patients undergoing prone position ventilation. Methods An intervention protocol of ultrasound assessment combined with SSKIN bundle care for pressure injury prevention was developed based on literature review and Delphi expert consultation. A total of 80 patients receiving prone position ventilation admitted to Hebei Chest Hospital from April 2024 to January 2025 were selected as research subjects and randomly divided into the control group (40 cases) and the observation group (40 cases). The control group received routine pressure injury prevention measures, while the observation group received ultrasound assessment combined with SSKIN bundle care. The incidence, location, onset time, severity of pressure injuries, and patients′ satisfaction with skin care during prone position were compared between the two groups. Results A total of 38 patients in the control group and 37 patients in the observation group completed the study. There were statistically significant differences in the incidence and onset time of pressure injuries between the two groups, and the satisfaction with skin care in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (all P＜0.05). Conclusion Ultrasound assessment combined with SSKIN bundle care has a good application effect in preventing pressure injuries in patients undergoing prone position ventilation. It can reduce the incidence of pressure injuries, delay the onset time of pressure injuries, and improve patients′ satisfaction with skin care during prone position ventilation.
