Objective To investigate the effectiveness of a wearable device combined with an AI-based early warning home management mini-program in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and to provide practical evidence for intelligent management of chronic diseases. Methods A total of 128 patients with stable COPD were randomly assigned to either a control group or an observation group, with 64 in each. The control group was given conventional COPD care, while the observation group additionally received home management intervention using the AI-based early warning mini-program integrated with wearable devices over a 10-month period. Before and after the intervention, all patients were assessed using the COPD Assessment Test (CAT), the COPD Self-Management Scale, and the 36-Item Short Form Health Survey (SF-36).The number of acute exacerbations was also recorded. Results After the intervention, the observation group had significantly lower CAT scores, whereas significantly higher scores for self-management ability and quality of life, compared with the control group (all P<0.05).The frequency of acute exacerbations in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of a wearable device combined with an AI-based early warning home management mini-program can effectively control disease progression, and enhance patients′ self-management ability and quality of life.
