Metaphor analysis is a qualitative research method that interprets abstract concepts by placing them within concrete cognitive frameworks to reveal personal perceptions and problem-solving patterns.This paper reviews its origins, purposes and characteristics, application value, methodological procedures, current application status, and recommendations for practice.The aim is to provide a methodological guidance for nursing researchers in China and to broaden its application in nursing research.
