Abstract:Objective To develop a journey map of patient experiences in regional collaborative care for acute myocardial infarction (AMI), to explore patients′ multidimensional needs and critical pain points throughout the continuum of care, and to provide evidence for optimizing regional collaborative care models and enhancing patient experiences. Methods A descriptive qualitative study was conducted. Using purposive sampling, 16 AMI patients who had received regional collaborative care were recruited for semi-structured interviews. Interview data were analyzed using content analysis, and a patient journey map of regional collaborative care was subsequently developed. Results A total of 23 themes were identified across four dimensions: behaviors, emotions, pain points, and opportunity points. These findings were integrated into a patient journey map encompassing three stages:symptom onset and self-help decision-making, prehospital emergency care and reperfusion treatment, and condition stabilization and rehabilitation management. The journey map clearly illustrated patients′ core experiences, emotional fluctuations, and potential intervention opportunities at each stage. Conclusion Patient experiences in regional collaborative care for AMI are complex and characterized by distinct stage-specific features. The timeliness of prehospital transport, transparency of in- hospital treatment information, continuity of postoperative rehabilitation, and accessibility of community-based health management are key factors influencing patient experiences. Future interventions may be developed based on the journey map to optimize regional collaborative care pathways and improve patient experiences and health outcomes throughout the entire care continuum.
